Home Business

Posted in Marketing, Web Of Marketing by admin on the September 24th, 2008

Have you ever wondered why you have to get up at the crack of dawn, get ready for work, drive across town your computer, and type and file all day long? Why can you not do all of that filing at your home, and save all that gas? I have often wondered this, and the simple fact is, you do not have to work only at an office building somewhere. You can do it, but you just have to do a little research. I used the keyword “work from home uk“, and it has made all the difference in my employment.

In England, it can be difficult to find part time work to augment income. It is even more difficult to find work that is easy to do without having to go from the home to the office daily. Since I had my second child, I have been less keen on leaving my home everyday. That is why it has been such a lifesaver that I was able to work from home uk style. It sounds cheesy, but the English have a specific group of companies that do this kind of work, and I was lucky enough to find a company that does it.

Is An Ebusiness Right For You

Posted in Marketing by admin on the June 1st, 2008

You need to make some money. Perhaps you’d like to change careers. Maybe you’d like a new challenge. Or you’ve just heard the rumors about the fortunes to be made on the internet.

Any one of these reasons might have led you to the decision to start your own internet business, but before you begin investing your time and money there are some important questions you need to answer to determine if an ebusiness is right for you.

First you should consider your familiarity and ease with the internet. If you don’t know about negotiate the web or attempting to do makes you uncomfortable then this alone does not mean you should rethink starting an ebusiness. However it does mean that you need to spend time learning about how the internet works and getting familiar with basic tools such as email, web browsers, message boards, and search engines. If your discomfort was a simple result of ignorance then don’t worry about it as you can acquire the knowledge and skills you need. However if you find that you simply don’t like it even after you become familiar then that should be a red flag to consider another career path.

Second you should consider your business knowledge and experience and then consider how that works for you or against you in the world of ecommerce. A simple lack of knowledge and experience simply means that you will need to spend time learning or filling in the gaps in your knowledge. The good news is that this information is readily available on the internet. Of course the bad news is that if you leap into business before you are ready it can cost you a lot of time and money. My advice is to read articles and ebooks to acquire a basic foundation then begin spending time in some online forums and ask questions. People are always willing to help. Don’t spend any money while building this foundation knowledge. You don’t have to so why do it? Latter on as you begin to delve deeper into your niche then you may decide that some information is worth paying for but hopefully by then you’ll be a better judge. However you may discover during your studies that ecommerce bores you or confuses you. Again, that should be a red flag to consider another career path.

Third what need will your ebusiness fill? Obviously you have needs but that is not what I’m talking about. Think about your potential audience or customer. Start searching for other products that might compete with yours or other businesses that already exist. Visit forums, subscribe to newsletters, and study web sites that relate to this field. Eventually you will be able to determine if there is a need for your ebusiness, how big a demand exists, and how much competition is already in place. It is important to consider these angles because each fact will help determine how easy it will be to establish your new business, grow that business, and ensure its success. You can make a success in a highly competitive field but it is more work than finding yourself in a smaller, yet unexplored, niche.

Accept Payments Online

Posted in Marketing by admin on the June 1st, 2008

There is a seemingly infinite number of choices and configurations for taking payments online. Choices range from almost total “do it yourself” programming to turnkey packages.

You can accept payments online in two general ways:

1) Through your own online merchant account and/or

2) Through a third party processor.

Taking Payments Online through your own Online Merchant Account

Accepting payments online via a merchant account puts you in control and limits your reliability on outside payment acceptance services. Taking payments online can also seem like a jigsaw puzzle. Besides an Internet merchant account, you will need shopping cart software, a store or site host, a processor, and a secure payment gateway.

You may fit the pieces together in different ways. On one end of the spectrum, you can choose each provider individually. On the other end, you may choose a turnkey solution, where the provider has completed the puzzle for you.

There is no single best solution. Your choice will depend on your particular needs and experience. Among other considerations, you should factor in your own comfort with the technologies, customer convenience, providers’ service levels, available technical support, reliability, costs, and time commitment involved.
Fees

There are a myriad of potential costs and fees involved in accepting payments online, making it difficult for a small business or entrepreneur establishing online payment processing to compare different options.

Potentially, you could be charged fees by each provider involved in helping you take payments online — application fees, set-up fees, yearly memberships, monthly statement charges, monthly minimums, gateway access fees, statement fees, fixed transaction fees, variable transaction discount rates (processing fee for each transaction), and cancellation penalties are all common.

Often, it is easy to misinterpret the fees you will owe. Rarely are all costs revealed in one place. If you are reading about a merchant account, for example, the quoted costs may not include gateway access, hosting, and/or shopping cart. Because you may be comparing “apples to oranges,” options that at first appear low-cost can — upon implementation — turn out to be pricey. Similarly, expensive-sounding solutions may actually be reasonably priced.

Accepting Payments Online through a Third Party Payment Processor

If you are not ready to set up your own online merchant account and/or you want to offer additional online payment options, you can turn to a variety of third party payment processors.

Third party payment processors provide a way to accept payments online without the extra cost and obligation of a merchant account. To compensate, transaction fees are significantly higher than for merchant accounts.

Each program is a little different and no single third party payment processor is right for all situations. Clickbank, for example, helps you sell digital products online. CCNow will process payment for tangible items only.

Deciding What’s Best for You

Whether you accept payments online through an Internet merchant account, through a third party payment processor, or both, read all agreements carefully before committing. Do not hesitate to ask the providers questions if information is unclear or incomplete.

Put together the “puzzle pieces” for taking payments online and your Web sales will flourish!

The Truth About Grants

Posted in Marketing by admin on the May 29th, 2008

I don’t know about you, but hardly a day goes by I don’t receive spam emails about grants. Spam that absolutely promises me I can buy a book and get a $30,000 grant, just for being alive on the planet. Spam that assures me there are grants available to pay my credit card bills, start any kind of business, or buy a shiny new car.

To some degree, those spam emails are why I established a website devoted to grants. Because I have been a grants consultant for thirty years, I know the truth about grants, and I want to share that truth with you.

The truth about grants is a good news/bad news proposition. Let’s get the bad news out of the way first:

Nobody is going to award you a grant of $20,000 or $30,000 to spend at Saks, or pay your bills. Nobody is going to give you cash to start a network marketing business. Nobody is going to buy you a new Mercedes to drive around the neighborhood.

But really, in your heart of hearts, you already knew that - right?

Now for the good news about grants…and there is some very, very good news indeed:

Every year in the United States alone, $360 billion is available in grant funding for individuals, businesses, and non-profit organizations. This is the real thing, money that is genuinely available from solid, dependable funding organizations.

There are grants for college, grants to pay for medical care and drugs, and grants to support research and study projects. There are some government grants available to certain established businesses, and a very limited number of grants to start new businesses.

There are grants for women and for minorities, grants to buy homes, grants to acquire and repair rental properties, and grants to develop new products that will help the environment. There are grants to fund a virtually unlimited number of community projects. If you have a project that offers some social value, there is probably a funder who has a grant for which you can apply.

Government agencies, foundations, and corporations all make grants. Almost universally, grants do not need to be repaid, and grants are tax-free.

Are you beginning to see the scope of this?

To help people understand just how much potential there is in grants, I often describe grants funding as a “parallel economy”. There is the standard economy, where goods and services are bought and sold, and taxes paid. Then there is the parallel economy of grants, where gifts are requested and received.

Not just a few gifts. Three hundred sixty billion dollars in gifts.

So is there a trick involved in getting grants? No. But, as is true in any situation in life, there is a framework within which the successful grantseeker must operate. If you want to profit from grants, you must put forth the time and effort to learn how this parallel economy operates, and how to play by its rules.

First, grants are all about purpose. Every grant is offered and awarded in order to accomplish a specific purpose. Every funding agency has a mission it wants to carry out, and grants are given to further that mission. So if you want to start a children’s orchestra in your town, you must find the funder who considers musical programs for children part of its mission. If you have invented a better trash compactor, then you are looking for a funder with an environmental mission.

Second, there are a host of resources for finding and identifying grants. You must learn about the types of grants, who is making them, and how to locate them. You must learn how to tailor your project to potential funders.

Third, there is a specific format for requesting grants, called a grant proposal. Although there are many different types of grants, the basic grant proposal format can be adapted to all of them. You must learn how to write a good proposal, and assemble all the information a funder will want to see.

This all sounds a bit more complicated than just buying a book, right? So the question becomes, is it worth the effort?

Well, I’ve raised millions of dollars in grant funds for my clients, and for myself. I bought an apartment complex free and clear, without a penny of my own money, with a grant. I absolutely believe it’s worth the time and effort involved. Where else but in the parallel economy of grants, can you ask for what you need, and receive it as a gift?

When a Prospect Isn’t Worth Your Time

Posted in Marketing by admin on the May 24th, 2008

I own and operate several successful businesses on the Internet, and I take extreme pride in my follow-up skills, patience and the ability to virtually teach anyone how to start a business on the Internet with virtually no skills or financial backing.

There is hardly a day that goes by that I don’t receive an email requesting my help to teach someone how to get started. While I always return these emails and offer my help, 99.9% of the time, I know by the first email if this person is worth my time or not.

Starting a business on the Internet is not hard, but it does take patience and a lot of time invested before you see any return. It will also take a financial investment of at least 10-30 dollars to build a website.

Most people understand that starting a traditional business offline will require a huge investment of time and money. They also understand that this will require some planning before they see a profit…so why don’t people who start Internet businesses understand that?

Here is an example of the type of emails that I get:

“I’m looking for an Internet business to start and I don’t want to pay anything to get started. I have tried virtually every program on the Internet and been scammed by all of them. My family and I can hardly make the bills each month. I need money fast! Please help me!”

I just cringe when I see these types of emails. First of all this guy is looking for an “Internet Job” versus an “Internet Business”. There isn’t any Internet jobs that I know of that will pay you by the hour for doing a certain task for them.

Next, he has tried virtually every program on the Internet. These people jump from program to program looking for “instant” cash and never concentrate on one opportunity long enough to see any success. These are the people who scream that they have been scammed and put a bad light on every legitimate opportunity on the Internet.

This prospect can hardly pay his bills, and will probably have trouble paying them for the rest of his life, because he doesn’t manage his money. How do I know that? He obviously has Internet access to be able to email me, and if I was really struggling to pay the bills each month, I would think that the Internet would be a luxury that I could do without. If you can afford the Internet you can afford to start an Internet business.

And lastly, this guy is running on pure desperation. Desperate thoughts lead to desperate measures and he will never think clearly enough to successfully start and manage his own business. He will be thinking of only the moment at hand instead of working toward a future goal.

I would of course send this prospect an email in return, because you never know when someone might prove you wrong. But set them straight right from the start with some realistic expectations, or these types of emails will overrun your own business and take precious time away from your own goals.

Best wishes for your future success and prosperity!

What’s Good in Quotes?

Posted in Marketing by admin on the April 30th, 2008

We do not want to be cheated. We want fairness, right? What ever
we do, we want equality. Equilibrium makes us feel balanced.
Thus, we must uplift fairness all the time.

When it comes to printing, to ensure fairness, you have to be
given same price as other customers. It’s no good to have a
fluctuating price because it is already a form of deceit and
bias. It will be unfair to the ones given a higher price and
will be favorable to those who get it at a very low price.

When it comes to businesses and marketing strategy, tiny pieces
of paper can standout from the rest - business cards, flyers and
postcards for instance are essential ingredients of a not so
expensive yet effectual marketing. Tiny pieces of paper like
these make it easy for customers to buy your product or
subscribe to your business. They are accessible, convenient and
inexpensive. Thus, you can stretch your budget to your worthy
advantage.

To avoid future conflicts and the air of unprofessionalism,
commercial printers are now equipped with quotes. Say in
postcards, printing companies have postcard printing quotes to
assist the customers in their printing needs. Prices may vary
depending on your order, specifications and demand. Nonetheless,
you can be assured that you are getting the same quality at the
same price.

Without you noticing it, your business may already be in the
black because the response of your tiny pieces of paper is
overwhelming and the sales just keep on increasing.

Postcards still serves as one of the effective medium of
communication. The adventures, scenic sports, remarkable moments
are easily conveyed through it. Postcard marketing through
invincible postcard printing services, on the other hand, is an
essential part of a valuable modern-day business endeavor. Aside
from the fact that it generates traffic to the company’s
website, it also leads to high sales.

The next time you need traffic in your web site, boost your
sales percentage, or simply extending your greetings and
adventures, consider having an efficient postcard printing
services. They will enormously alleviate your sales like a
rocket at a reasonable and fair price!

Network Marketing 101 : for Beginners

Posted in Marketing by admin on the April 11th, 2008

You’ve just decided to make THE move. You are considering
joining a Network Marketing Company. Maybe you’ve already found
one. Great!

You’ve spent some time evaluating the best ones, with the best
products, the best compensation plan, the best training… and
finally you have made your choice. You have found THE company,
THE one that correponded to your needs and budget. Very good for
you! You should be proud of yourself because your decision could
change you life.

Where do we go from here

Ok ! Now what ? You’ve spent some time getting to know your
company and you now have a business to run. You need customers
to buy your products and you also need to recruit people in your
downline. If you don’t get customers and if you don’t build your
team, your business will simply die. It’s as simple as ABC.

To build your team you simply need to show your business to as
many people as possible. You need a constant source of prospects
evaluating your company. The more prospects sees what you have
to offer the more money you will make because the more you will
recruit.

So far so good. There are no big secrets to what I’ve told you
so far.

The problem is that when you start a business in network
marketing, usually you don’t know how to get in touch with
people. Some of you might be afraid to talk about it to
relatives and friends, some of you might not know how to
advertise. It’s perfectly normal because you are in a learning
process.

So here’s a simple way to generate leads.

Subscribe to a lead generation company.

A Lead generation company is you #1 tool as an Online
entrepreneur in the Network Marketing Industry.

These companies provides you with pre-qualified propects who
have responded to a business opportunity advertisement on a web
site. These prospects are looking for a home business and THEY
WANT informations.

I HIGHLY recommend getting your business started this way if AT
ALL possible, and the reason why is this -

The ONLY way to be successful in Network Marketing is to have a
steady stream of potential partners looking at your opportunity,
and evaluating the idea of getting started with you.

You will be learning some VERY effective ways to generate your
own leads, and these are the most effective leads by far, but it
takes a little while to get this system up and producing the
kind of leads and response that you are looking for.

How to choose a lead generation company.

There are many companies out there selling leads. Of course, you
will want to focus on the ones that sells you quality leads.
Make sure that your lead generation company provides you with
FRESH leads. That is, not more than 3 to 4 days old.

Make sure that they are NON-SHARED leads. This means that you
are the only customers who buy the leads. Some companies sell
the same leads over and over to different persons. Make sure
that your company don’t.

Make sure your lead generation companies provides you with a
good training system that will show you how to work with your
leads so they become interested in your Network Marketing
Company.

Some lead generation companies sells different kind of leads.
This means that they have been qualified differently. The better
they are, the more expensive, the more responsive. Make sure you
have a choice that fits your budget.

Finally choose a lead generation company where you can also earn
an income when you refer people to them. It is an excellent way
to ad up to your profits.

The way I work my business is simple. I buy leads. I contact
them and show them my Network Marketing Company. Some of them
are interested and simply join it. When they get confortable
with their new network marketing company I show them how to grow
their distributorship and recommend that they use my lead
generation company. After all, that’s where I found them !

The same process is being repeated month after month after
month. It is an easy system to understand and it is duplicable.
Soon you will find yourself with a Strong Recruiting Powerhouse.

Numbers talk

Over time you will find many different ways to generate leads to
your network marketing company throught different marketing
techniques. Blogs, ezines, classifieds, banners, opt-in lists,
safelists, search engines, websites, Pay per clicks, etc. These
take time to master.

Many people quit before they are even there ! That’s why I
recommend lead generation companies. You are assuring yourself
with a garanteed numbers of prospects. Qualified prospects. Put
yourself in the driver’s seat right from the start.

Numbers talk. Network Marketing is simply a numbers game. Let
the law of averages do it’s magic. The more people sees your
opportunity, the more people you will recruit. It’s as simple as
1-2-3.
