Life Gets Teejus, Don’t It?
Those five words are from a song that I remember hearing a long time ago. It may even be the song’s title. I dunno. For those of you who don’t speak casual English, the word “teejus” can be translated to “tedious”. Somehow it just doesn’t have the same impact though. I think I’ll just stick with teejus…
Life does have a tendency to get teejus, doesn’t it? Sometimes it’s our work, sometimes the family - or our… ahem… “friends” - or the bills - or the housework - or the car - or medical stuff - or the taxes - or the weather - or the danged cat - or… well, you get the idea. Once in a while - and commonly a lot more often than that - the stuff of life gets piled so high it would take a bulldozer to shove it out of the way. Yep, life does get teejus…
OK, so what we can do about these teejus moments in our life?
Question - do you want to hear about how a lot of the teejus moments we live with are our own creation and caused by the way we think and feel about ourselves including assorted things like guilt, fear, lack of confidence, inability to say no, lack of self discipline, a victim mentality, an overwhelming urge to please, and a pile of other assorted self-limiting techniques? Do you want to hear about how if we want to change our lives we’ll need to change the way we think which will in turn allow us to change our actions and response to events that occur in our lives? Do you want to hear that none of this will happen overnight and that we’ll probably need to spend quite a bit of time modifying our mental programming so that we can approach life with a new, improved outlook which will ultimately lead us to a more enjoyable, less stressful lifestyle?
Nah, I didn’t think so. Oh, don’t get me wrong. You’ll still have to learn and work to modify your thinking and then apply this knowledge to your life. It’s all part of the personal growth process. We just won’t discuss it now if you’d rather not.
So what would you like to hear about? How about a way to make all of this a bit easier? OK, then…
Get connected. That’s a great way to start smoothing out the rough spots in your life’s routine. It’s a dependable path to your own personal success. It’s the foundation that will make the building of your new life’s structure a whole bunch easier - and a lot more fun.
By “get connected” I mean tapping into your spiritual self - your innate spiritual awareness. Some folks like to refer to it as accessing their higher consciousness while others talk about communications with God or their angels or guides. Same difference as far as I’m concerned. It appears that we all have a natural - call it God-given if you want - ability to access information and guidance that comes from somewhere outside of our physical earthly environment. Yeah, I know. If you haven’t experienced this, it sounds like I’m talking from somewhere in the twilight zone. If you have - or are experiencing it, you know that it’s an absolutely normal part of our existence - and that it works! Why and how nobody really knows. But it works.
Nah, there’s nothing mysterious, magical, ultra religious - nor demon influenced - about any of this. And there’s no requirement to be a part of any group - religious or otherwise - nor is there an obligation to follow any special procedures or participate in any rituals to be “connected”. Oh, you can if you want - if you feel it makes communications easier or better. Whatever works for you - works for you.
It appears that it’s mostly a matter of acceptance. Accepting the possibility that communications with - and guidance from - God, the other side, our higher consciousness, up there, over there, wherever it is… exists. Then just allowing it to happen. Yeah, this is a bit oversimplified but that’s what it boils down to in the end. Just letting it happen!
No, this “approach to life” is not at all unusual nor is it new. Folks have been working their connections in one way or another for thousands of years. They still are. Of course, a lot of these folks are not willing to come right out and admit that they’ve been tapping into the great beyond. After all, they wouldn’t want anyone to think they’re taking silly pills. It’s an image thing, ya know.
Here’s a suggestion. If you’ve never tried using your “spiritual” connections, give it a shot. Do some research - snoop around the net, hit the bookstores, check out some organizations or groups - and find an approach that you feel might work for you. Then try it. See what happens. Be patient and just let it happen. I think you’ll be pleased with the results.

Guidelines For Conducting A Good Meeting
Okay, so you’ve figured out what kind of meeting is needed, you’ve planned well and you have all the right materials. How about the meeting itself? How can you be sure the meeting you’ve so carefully planned and prepared actually comes off as expected?
The checklist below can help you through the process.
- Begin on time, clearly stating the meeting objective and your intentions to stick to type, time, topic, agenda
- Obtain agreement on the agenda items and times for each item
- Agenda changes must be consistent with meeting objective, type, time limits
- Consider having a time keeper, rather than letting topics exceed time limits
- Use action language to assign responsibilities — What will be accomplished, who will accomplish it, time frames and deliverables (when and how to be accomplished)
- Appoint a scribe to document meeting results
- Have a “parking lot” for topics not on the agenda - at end of meeting - Review parking lot, decide resolution, assign follow-up, if appropriate
- Anyone who feels the process is not supporting the objectives of the meeting should speak up and share this observation
- Decide date and time for next meeting, if needed
- Debrief the meeting (should take less than 5 minutes). Ask questions like Was the meeting necessary? Did the meeting begin and end on time? Was the agenda adhered to? Were participants objective, and all viewpoints heard? Were outside interruptions avoided? Did all participants have an opportunity to contribute? Were digressions and repetitions avoided? Were win/win solutions achieved? Was feedback offered and accepted?
- End on time

Build A Strong Internet Marketing Business By Letting People Steal From You
If there is any one big “secret” to my Internet marketing success it’s this thing called “audio.”
I love audio.
Sometimes I make an average of one audio product per day. And I do it simply by turning on the tape recorder and asking permission whenever I consult with somebody, or somebody calls me up to ask a question.
However, people see my websites and all the audio content on there and they ask:
“Aren’t you afraid somebody is going to steal all that audio and use it without your permission?”
My answer:
I never worry about people stealing from me. Sometimes people do, but I have so many references to me, my site and my products in there they are just doing my work for me anyway.
They’re just going to spread the word for me. It’s just going to bring more people back to my site, many of who will give me their name and email so I can sell them more products and services.
And that’s what the thieves don’t understand.
It’s not about the product…it’s about building the list and then selling more things to them later they want.
You can’t do that with a one shot deal stealing content.
But you can do it — usually pretty easily — by constantly adding fresh new audio content regularly, each time giving people another reason to return to your site and, ideally, buy something.

Tips to Temper Speaking Anxiety
People take it for granted that leaders have achieved some skill in public speaking. Yet anxiety persists because leaders face very challenging situations and have a great risk of embarrassment. Here are some tips for tempering those anxieties.
INTRODUCING A SPEAKER
When you introduce a speaker, answer three questions: 1) Why is this topic being addressed? 2) Why this speaker? And 3) Why now? For example, “Today the Federal Register calls for comments on proposed legislation to raise taxes on gasoline. Our guest speaker has worked in the industry for 10 years and is now legislative aide for Senator . . . .”
Most professional speakers will provide an introduction for you which will answer the second question. Simply lead into it with the answers to the other questions.
READING FROM A SCRIPT
Does reading a speech from a lectern without a TelePrompTer make you feel like you are bobbing for apples? You raise your head and quickly sweep the audience with your eyes and then plunge back into the script. You know that eye contact is essential, yet you cannot risk a misstatement.
To get rid of that feeling, have your speech typed only on the top half of the page and place the page as high up on the lectern as is comfortable. That way you need only raise your eyes and not your head to look at the audience. The distance between audience and script is shorter so there is also less risk of losing your place.
Type your speech large letters, double spaced. That way even in dim light you can easily read it. If time permits, read the speech aloud to yourself several times before you present it.
PRESENTING TO THE BOARD
Board presentations may be the most challenging public speaking you face. Usually the group is small, and you must be prepared to answer questions. You have certain advantages here:
First, you have an opportunity to prepare. You may not be the expert, but you will probably know more about the topic than the audience does.
Second, you either know the members of the board or have an opportunity to learn about them in advance by reading biographies or profiles.
Third, you know the outcome you seek. It may be a favorable decision by the board or simply a better understanding of an issue.
To help focus your message, define its purpose in one sentence before beginning to develop it. As you develop the content, select key points leading to the outcome you want. Anticipate questions by putting yourself in your audience’s position. Some questions can be answered in the presentation and, therefore, will not need to be asked.
Have supporting information at your fingertips to expand on a point if requested. This will raise your comfort level and enhance your credibility with the board. It is best to know the board’s expectations before you finalize the presentation.
REHEARSING FOR SUCCESS
After the content and charts, if any, are to your satisfaction, rehearse your presentation a few times. Most charts will contain only key phrases and pictures or graphics, not complete sentences.
You may want to write a script to use during rehearsal but it is best not to read from a script during your presentation. Try mind-mapping, do an outline, and have only a few notes at hand to reassure yourself.
Schedule some quiet time prior to your presentation and mentally rehearse. If you are nervous, take a few deep breaths, visualize yourself at your best, then give it all you’ve got!
There is no need to fear public speaking. Anyone can hone their skills with a little practice and mental preparation. Understand your topic, learn all you can about your audience, decide what action you want your listeners to take, and motivate them to act!

Breast Cancer and Pregnancy
Although it is rare for breast cancer to strike younger women, the fact remains that all women are at risk. And for those of childbearing age, the first sign and symptoms of breast cancer leading to a diagnosis can not only be upsetting and unexpected, but complicated as well.
Developing breast cancer at a younger agein a woman’s 40s, 30s, even 20swill mean making important and difficult decisions about one’s life and future perhaps much sooner than originally expected.
One concern is developing breast cancer during pregnancy, which although rare, can still occur. In this case, the treatment chosen will not only affect the patient and her body, but the growing baby inside her as well. It will depend on what stage of pregnancy she is in (first, second or third trimester) and what stage her cancer is insuch as whether or not it’s advanced.
Most pregnant women can have treatment for their breast cancer without affecting the baby. But some might be advised by their obstetrician or health-care practitioneror even decide themselvesto terminate the pregnancy, more so if the pregnancy is in its earlier stages, in order to receive certain treatments that would be too risky otherwise. But it is essential to remember that it is a woman’s own decisionit is not medically necessary to terminate a pregnancy if the expectant mother is diagnosed with breast cancer. All it does is limit treatment options. Breast cancer itself will not affect the fetusonly certain tests and treatments will.
Generally speaking, tamoxifen, chemotherapy, radiation, and other drug-related therapies are avoided if the woman is pregnant because of their associated risks with birth defects. Tamoxifen, especially, is considered very unsafe because it is a hormonal therapy and is never recommended if the woman is pregnant or planning on conceiving.
Surgeryeither a lumpectomy or mastectomyis the most common and preferred method of treatment for breast cancer in pregnant women.
Another concern is whether or not breast cancer survivors can or should go on to have children after treatment and recovery. It’s a very controversial issue with firm advocates on both sides of the debate.
There are two main questions here, for both the medical and health community and breast cancer survivors wanting their own children: 1) Do certain breast cancer treatments affect fertility?; and 2) Is it actually considered safe to conceive and carry a baby to term following breast cancer and breast cancer treatments?
As far as fertility goes, there is no definite answer here. For chemotherapy, it depends on the age and what specific drug was usedsome affect fertility more than others. And taking tamoxifen after chemotherapy to prevent recurrence is not recommended if the woman desires to become pregnant right away. Although tamoxifen is sometimes used as a fertility treatment, there is evidence to suggest that it damages developing embryos, and therefore is not considered safe to use.
Many doctors caution these women to wait several years to ensure receiving the best breast cancer treatment possible and to go past the point of the biggest threat of breast cancer recurrence. But some women decide to go ahead and have babies anyway, since it’s so important to them.

An informed woman has a distinct advantage over her fears. Arm yourself about Breast Cancer and be ready to fight and beat any possible diagnosis.
