Work, Action, Movement -You Cannot Get Anywhere Without It

Posted in Self Improvement Tips by admin on the April 30th, 2008

“You can’t get anywhere in anything without work, action, movement..whatever you want to call it.” Scott Haines

Just getting on with doing something however poorly is important. Mike Litman talks about how you can upgrade your conversation if you just get on with things by taking action.

He uses the example of one man or woman talking about getting a website up. He or she talks for 6 months. This is boring!

Another man or woman takes speedy action and gets his or her website up in one week. It is not perfect but he or she can now move on. They are no longer talking about putting up the website. They are talking about bringing in traffic. This is exciting! They have moved on but can still improve their website as they go. They have moved from being nervous about putting up their website to being excited about it.

Another person might dither about starting an ezine. Another just starts one. She might lose many subscribers as she goes but at least her ezine is improving and more and more subscribers stay on. Her talk is full of excitement and enthusiasm.

Someone talks about writing a book. Another one just starts writing every day and gets on with it. His or her book may not be great but it can be improved. The talk is no longer about writing a book; it is about improving a book and selling it!

About 15 years ago, I took action to open a martial arts school instead of just talking about it. I didn’t feel too confident and my first lesson opened with just one student coming through the door. My marketing had been practically non-existent. However, things soon improved.

Two years later the class was thriving. If you are interested, check out the photo on the home page of my self-defence site.
The URL for this is listed below. The photo on the right is of my class in 1992, about two years after the one student had appeared. The school is still going strong in 2005.

Eva Gregory has written a great quote:

“Inspired action is the difference in potential and actuality.”

However, sometimes uninspired action is also the difference. We cannot always afford to wait for inspiration. Inspiration often arrives after we have started. If a thing is worth doing it is worth doing badly at first and improving later.

This is the basic principle behind brainstorming. Early criticism kills a creative discussion. Early criticism can stop creative action in its tracks.

Of course, it helps, to plan and learn the necessary skills but if you wait too long for these your project will die. Action, movement and work are essential.

Above all, if you take action on things, you will live an exciting although not necessarily a comfortable life!

Disney In One Day … Is It Possible ?

Posted in Travel, Safaris, And More by admin on the April 30th, 2008

As a Florida villa owner, this is one of the most commonly asked questions I receive from guests. In truth, there is no definitive answer. Various factors will affect your ability to seek out all that Disney has to offer within a limited timescale, but with a little common sense and some handy tips, you’ll certainly be on track to achieving your goal!

So here is a list of ideas to help smooth your day:

1: Ensure everyone has a hearty breakfast. The “all you can eat breakfast buffets” are very popular, or diners such as Dennys offer excellent value for money.

2: Buy your Disney tickets in advance to save valuable time standing in line at the ticket window when you arrive at your chosen park.

3: Choose which Disney Park you are going to visit. Fairly obvious ~ But you would be amazed how many families just head off to Disney, and then decide in the car ! Not conducive to good debate or safe driving !

4: Arrive early. Check the park times and arrive when the gates open. It will give you a head start on those guests who take a leisurely breakfast and arrive mid morning.

5: Pick up a couple of park maps and timetables at the park entrance. This way if any members of your party decide to split up, you can easily arrange a meeting point to find each other again, as there is no excuse for getting lost.

6: Talking of getting lost. Don’t allow members of your group to just wander off. Before anyone separates from your group for whatever reason, decide on a specific meeting point, to link up again. Many valuable minutes can be wasted looking for a “wanderer” !

7: When you enter the park, go straight to the farthest attraction, and work backwards toward the front entrance during the day.

8: If you travel in a counter clockwise direction around the parks, your journey time will be quicker, as most folks enter a park and turn right ~ it’s a right handed thing !)

9: Decide ahead of time which attractions if any you want to miss out, and any that are definite must sees.

10: Co-ordinate your travels in conjunction with the various parades and shows that are continually being performed throughout the day.

11: Take advantage of Disney’s Fast Pass service, which allows you to avoid the lines at the more popular attractions, by giving you a designated ride time. Details are available at the entrance to all participating rides.

12: There is usually one big afternoon parade and up to two night time parades. However, if parades are not your thing, these times are an excellent opportunity to visit other attractions, as the majority of guests will be out on the streets waving at Mickey Mouse !

13: Taking a supply of nutritional snacks and fruit will save you time and money, as opposed to waiting in restaurants.

14: Use the Tip Boards. All Disney parks have Tip Boards, showing the average wait time for each attraction. This information is updated regularly throughout the day.

15: Save any shopping until you are ready to exit the park. Shops will stay open for at least an hour after the park officially closes, and if you buy your souvenirs as you exit, it will save you having to carry them around the park all day !

So is it possible to “do Disney in a day” ? Probably not ! Although the above tips will give you a better chance than “Mr and Mrs Average”. Seasoned veterans of theme parks may be able to notch up every ride and attraction on their visit, but they have the advantage of being on familiar territory.

The good news however is that there is always something different, new and exciting to see, experience and explore in a Disney park, so even if you don’t manage to cross off everything on your theme park list, there is no better excuse for a return visit at a more leisurely pace !

What’s Good in Quotes?

Posted in Marketing by admin on the April 30th, 2008

We do not want to be cheated. We want fairness, right? What ever
we do, we want equality. Equilibrium makes us feel balanced.
Thus, we must uplift fairness all the time.

When it comes to printing, to ensure fairness, you have to be
given same price as other customers. It’s no good to have a
fluctuating price because it is already a form of deceit and
bias. It will be unfair to the ones given a higher price and
will be favorable to those who get it at a very low price.

When it comes to businesses and marketing strategy, tiny pieces
of paper can standout from the rest - business cards, flyers and
postcards for instance are essential ingredients of a not so
expensive yet effectual marketing. Tiny pieces of paper like
these make it easy for customers to buy your product or
subscribe to your business. They are accessible, convenient and
inexpensive. Thus, you can stretch your budget to your worthy
advantage.

To avoid future conflicts and the air of unprofessionalism,
commercial printers are now equipped with quotes. Say in
postcards, printing companies have postcard printing quotes to
assist the customers in their printing needs. Prices may vary
depending on your order, specifications and demand. Nonetheless,
you can be assured that you are getting the same quality at the
same price.

Without you noticing it, your business may already be in the
black because the response of your tiny pieces of paper is
overwhelming and the sales just keep on increasing.

Postcards still serves as one of the effective medium of
communication. The adventures, scenic sports, remarkable moments
are easily conveyed through it. Postcard marketing through
invincible postcard printing services, on the other hand, is an
essential part of a valuable modern-day business endeavor. Aside
from the fact that it generates traffic to the company’s
website, it also leads to high sales.

The next time you need traffic in your web site, boost your
sales percentage, or simply extending your greetings and
adventures, consider having an efficient postcard printing
services. They will enormously alleviate your sales like a
rocket at a reasonable and fair price!

Art Of Seduction, Seducing Women

Posted in Tech + Life by admin on the April 29th, 2008

The Art Of Seduction And Seducing Women Into Wanting To Have Sex Is Very Easy As Long As You Have The Right Techniques And You Know What You’re Doing.

When all is said and done about dating women there is one main goal in a man’s mind. How do I get laid? Getting women to go out with you is one thing, seducing women into your bed is a different story altogether. But as with flirting and dating it can be done if you know how the art of seduction works.

In a sense seduction is about making a connection with the woman that you are trying to seduce. Get her attention and make her want more from you. When you are flirting or bantering with her start moving the topics along into the sexual territory. Get her aroused and interested subconsciously so that when you make your move she will be naturally willing to go with you.

Another seduction technique you can try out is to just flat out arouse her and make her horny for sex. The reasoning behind this is simple, when women are aroused they will most likely want to have sex with whoever is making her horny and that would be you! Now one of the ways of seducing women into wanting to have sex is to actually talk about it. Getting her to just talk about it is sometimes not enough, you have to somehow convince her to visualize it. You can try to do so by discussing fantasy stories about what she’d like to do or what kind of fantasies she’d like to act out.

The art of seduction also includes turning the most innocent of discussions into something with sexual undertones. Seducing women is all about getting them to think about having sex and that way, she’ll have thoughts about wanting to have sex with you! And sometimes, being subtle is the best way to go about doing this. Instead about talking about sex openly and possibly disgusting her you can try to talk about other topics at hand while inserting suggestive words like “hard” or “coming” or “penetrate”.
And sometimes the best seduction techniques are also the most obvious. Try talking about how great sex can be when you have two people getting together for a purely sexual experience with no strings attached. Get her thinking about how people should be able to share and live out their sexual fantasies without being judged and you might seduce her into thinking that its her great idea of having sex with you!

CGI Installation: 3 Beginner’s Mistakes in CGI Installations

Posted in WWW Resources by admin on the April 29th, 2008

Sooner or later every webmaster needs CGI.

It is difficult to imagine the website maintainence with out CGI.

CGI scripts can be used to process a simple form to maintaining a
membership area. There are many scripts online, which can be used to
automate your website.

**Form proccessing

**Autoresponders

**Order taking, Order proccessing

**Steamline your downloads

**Protecting your private folders

**Easy maintanence of the website

**Tracking your advertisements

**Maintaining an affiliate site

**Counters, classifieds, link directories…

There is no end to this list.

But the problem with cgi scripts is ‘how to install on your
servers?’

You don’t have to learn perl or write scripts on your own to maintain
your CGIs.

As a webmaster of your site you need to know about installing scripts
for yourself. Otherwise you will end up with paying hundreds of dollars
for script installations.

Basic THREE steps that you should check during cgi installations are:

1.UPLOADING OF FILES:

CGI files should be uploaded in ASCII mode. In this mode the ‘end-of-line’
character translated properly and the script lines are transfered in
proper format. (In BINARY mode, the characters will not be translated. Instead
they are transfered exactly as a duplicates)

Tip: DON’T run your FTP software in automode to upload cgi files. Set it
to ASCII mode manually and upload the files.

2.CONFIGURING THE SCRIPTS:

When you buy a script, you have to set few variables. So that the script
runs correctly on your server.

When you doing this, you should have an idea about your server perl paths,
absolute paths, URLs etc. The URLs are case sensitive.

Scriptname.cgi

scriptname.cgi

scriptname.pl

Scriptname.pl

All four are taken differently by your server.

3.FILE PERMISSIONS:

Once you upload files, don’t rush to run the script. Set and check the
file permissions.

If you don’t set the permissions to cgi or pl files, the server doesn’t
get access to your files and you will see ‘500 Internal server error’.

Most of the times cgi files need to be ‘755′. Always check the instructions
of the script providers.

If you are keeping an eye on these three steps, you can do your script
installations!

How To Avoid The Most Common Mistakes Made When Buying A Home

Posted in Realty Resources by admin on the April 28th, 2008

Buying a home is one of the most important and significant financial decisions that most people ever make. And because of the large sums of money that are involved, there are definite pitfalls and problems that you want to do your best to avoid as you make your decision.

One of the most common mistakes that many home buyers make is not getting pre-approved or pre-qualified for their mortgage loan in advance of starting their home shopping. As a result, if they put in an offer on a home at the same time that another prospective buyer makes an offer, and that buyer has been pre-qualified, the other buyer will almost always get the house because of having their financial arrangements already in order. So avoid this mistake by arranging for your mortgage loan in advance.

Another common mistake that is made is not enlisting the help of a qualified realtor in the home buying process. Buying a home these days is becoming more and more complex and involved. So having your own realtor who is looking out for your best interests and is knowledgeable about all the real estate requirements for your area can save a lot of headache and hassle.

Sometimes home buyers also rush into buying a home too soon. So its very important to take your time in the buying process, and not allow yourself to feel as if you are under pressure to buy a particular home quickly. New homes go on the market all the time, so be patient and you’ll be able to find a home you want, at the price you want, soon enough.

The opposite of that scenario can also be a big mistake. There are some home buyers who have such stringent requirements for their dream home, that they often pass up excellent homes that are very good bargains simply because their demands are unreasonably high. In a rising market, this can often cost them very dearly in the process. So although you may have very definite ideas about a home you would like to purchase, try to realize that some small compromises are usually necessary when buying a new home.

Sometimes home buyers get carried away emotionally and become attached to a home that is actually out of their price range too, and then saddle themselves with a huge debt that is difficult for them to pay. Most often financial institutions will help try to prevent such a situation, but buying restraint needs to start with the home buyer first. A good practice is never to even look at a home that falls outside of your affordable price range to begin with.

Whenever you are seriously looking at any home, be sure to inspect it thoroughly before you agree to the sale and sign the papers. It’s usually best to hire a quality home inspector on your own to go through the property and give you an unbiased assessment of its condition. If major problems are found, it can save you a lot of money by making this small investment.

One other common mistake that you want to avoid is not being aware of all restrictions that may be placed on your property by local zoning laws or homeowners associations. You may have specific plans for improving your property after the purchase, but you need to make sure that there are no restrictions on the plans that you have in mind before you buy.

These are some of the more common mistakes that homebuyers have made in the past that you can learn from. So before you buy your next home, review this list of tips and ideas to help make your home buying experience a successful one.

The Way to Cheap Homeowner Loans

Posted in World Of Loans by admin on the April 28th, 2008

If you are really serious about committing yourself to a cheap homeowner loan, then you have to keep several key factors in mind, which in turn stealthily paves way for a burdenless obligation.

The basic factor in finding a cheap homeowner loan is the value of equity of the portion of your house. This determines the amount that you have to borrow and of course guarantees the lender in getting their money back, in case you fail to repay the loan. Obviously, more equity would guarantee lower rate of interest.

Finding the right deal is not always easy until of course a fair amount of research and services of experts would guarantee a cheap homeowner loan. The key component in determining a cheap homeowner loan is predictability in rates of interest fluctuation.

The interest rate keeps on fluctuating and there comes a problem regarding homeowner loans, where a plunge in interest would mean you have to pay according to the new interest rate. But, a hike in interest rate would put you under more strain. This revelation may destabilize you for a moment. That is where an expert comes into picture, who can help you to predict the trend wisely and you can safely tread further.

Cheap homeowner loans are always the best bet, as it provides certain loopholes, saving you from rate fluctuation; considering the fact that it has a provision for a rate lock, where you can convince the lender in providing you homeowner loans at a certain fixed rate of interest. Obviously, it would refrain you refrain you from the advantage when the interest rate comes down, which you can assume rarely happens.

Homeowner loans are available to most people regardless of their credit history. You can always find the right lender by simply browsing on the internet, where you easily compare different interest rates. You can always seek opinions of experts and a careful look can make you predict interest rate fluctuation trends.

In terms of loan repayments, you can always pay a part of the loan and its interest every month. Some may opt for a single repayment. Both of them have their own advantages. While in the former mode you do not have to bear the whole burden at once, as it is distributed evenly in installments. The latter provides you with the luxury of saving cost of interest. A brief study shows you that the options are designed in a way which suits all kinds of borrowers.

Obviously, homeowner loans require a bit of expertise and time; but this is what we vie for. But, devotion leads you being sharper and with a prized homeowner loans

Problems & Why They Don’t Get Solved

Posted in Managers + Management by admin on the April 28th, 2008

It is possible to find about 2,050,000,000 “problems” on the internet.

Often, problems do not get solved because they do not have an owner. They saunter around like orphans that are not taken care of.

This could be the case when a problem is too big to address for a single owner. Today, a local newspaper reviewed the situation about the shrinking of the Greenland Glaciers. It is a problem that might cause a disaster in the end, but which (impact) is nearly invisible at the moment. It is a standard long-term versus short-term issue where the former is not often favored. Until there is no real need, no action will be undertaken. Besides that, not everybody could be convinced that the melting will indeed cause a problem.

Problems that do get attention are those where the urgency is high. The Internet site of a company that goes down for example. The production process could delay because of a part that was not delivered (and previously purchased) by the purchase department. Or a constant jam in the traffic to your call center because of a lack of agents (the problem of giving stress to your agents). For this last issue the owner of the problem is the manager of the call center. Although…

There are available agents in the team next door, owned by another manager. The call overflow could be routed to this neighboring team (call center), but the problem will be shifted; to another team and to another moment in time.

It is not sexy to talk about problems. You should rather focus on a challenge. Either way, something needs to get solved. And that is no problem;

It is possible to find 3,230,000,000 “Solutions” on the Internet.

And that is another reason why problems do not always get an owner. It is much more interesting to own a solution. There are too many of them, the question is, do they solve “your” problem?

Beating the effects of stress - Part 1

Posted in Web Of Marketing by admin on the April 27th, 2008

All stressed out and nowhere to go? I learned a long time ago that all you get for worry is more of the same, and that if there’s nothing we can do about a problem, the best thing we can do is let it go. Like some people say, “Don’t sweat the small stuff, and it’s all small stuff.” Or, like a contemporary song goes, “Get over it”. Even the Bible covers the topic, saying “Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Let the day’s own trouble be sufficient for the day.”

Stress is a fact of life - always has been. And most of it is the result of our tendency to judge others, or to let their actions and beliefs supercede our own desires. It’s caused people to exhibit momentary superhuman feats of strength when confronted with a life-or-death situation, and at the opposite end of the scale it’s caused people to take their own lives as a result of an inability to cope with life’s challenges. Hopefully, for small business people, it affects them in the former manner.

Fortunately, the subject of stress has studied by some of this century’s best minds (and from Canada, too), in psychology, biology, and business, and in the interest of providing our readers with a quick insight into how to make the best of stressful situations, we present the thoughts of three of those minds. The first, Dr. Hans Selye, emigrated from Central Europe to Canada in the 1930s. His fifty-year-old definition of stress is still the best explanation of what it really is: “Stress is the body’s nonspecific response to any demand placed on it, whether that demand is pleasant or not.”

The second is Dr. Dennis Waitley, whose Ph.D. in human behavior led him to counsel sales and management executives for Fortune 500 firms, Vietnam POWs and Iranian hostages, and Olympic and Super Bowl athletes. Dr. Waitley’s book, “Seeds of Greatness - The Ten Best-Kept Secrets of Total Success”, is an international best-seller.

The third, and this writer’s favourite, is Dr. Peter Hanson, a native of Vancouver, BC, who at age 24 became the youngest physician in North America to hold the position of team doctor for a major league sports franchise. His best-selling book, “The Joy of Stress”, with a foreword by his mentor, Sir Edmund Hillary, was described by Dr. Bill Vail, President of the Canadian Medical Association, as “an important book on a crucial subject for men and women alike. It’s good medicine.” In it, Dr. Hanson documents 12 of the body’s specific responses to stress, and how we can lessen their effects.

Dr. Selye condensed his twenty years of research at the University of Montreal’s Institute of Experimental Medicine into a 300-page book, “The Stress of Life”, and when he was told by his publisher that his explanations were too long and complicated, he summarized his research on ten pages. When he was told it was still too complex, he made it short and simple: “Fight for your highest attainable aim; but never put up resistance in vain.” Obviously, his publisher’s comments didn’t ’stress out’ Dr. Selye. His three basic rules for understanding his theories on the stress of life were the topic of lengthy interviews conducted by Dr. Waitley, in 1976:

Rule One - Find your own purpose in life, that fits your own personal stress level. Most of us are either ‘racehorses’, who thrive on pressure and seem only happen when in the fast lane, or ‘turtles’, who to be happy need a more paced, tranquil environment. Most of us, according to Drs. Selye and Waitley, are trying to be racehorses, charging through life to finish first, when what we should be doing is finding a purpose that we can respect - our goal - not the goal of our parents or friends. One way to determine whether you are on the right track is to define your own meaning of ‘work’. What is it? And can you play while you do it?

Rule Two - Control your emotional level by recognizing situations as being either life-threatening or non-life-threatening. Respond rather than react. Venting your anger is not a healthy thing to do. The act of venting anger is habit-forming, and it indicates low self-esteem. Ninety percent of our confrontations in life are with imaginary predators, which cause us to ’stew in our own juices’, doing battle with ourselves, which can lead to a host of stress-related diseases. Learning to adapt to and live with situations rather than reacting in a state of alarm and resistance will insulate us from early exhaustion. Being emotionally upset only draws our energy reserves ahead of schedule, and causes us to run out of life too soon.

Rule Three - Collect the goodwill and appreciation of others. Dr. Selye observed that one of the most effective keys to living is to persuade others to share our natural desire for own well-being. He said this can be done only by making a constant effort to win the respect and gratitude of our fellow-men and women. He rephrased the biblical quote, “Love thy neighbour as thyself”, into his own personal code of behavior: “Earn thy neighbour’s love”. Rather than trying to accumulate money or power, he suggested that we acquire goodwill by doing something that helps our neighbour. “Hoard goodwill”, he advised, “and your house will be a storehouse of happiness.”
